AGILITY

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize?  So run that you may obtain it.  I Corinthians 9:24 ESVIMG_5505

I was watching the American Kennel Club Agility Competitions last night.  Agility means the ability to move quickly and easily.  It is the ability to think and understand.

While I was watching, two of the dogs completed an obstacle in the wrong order.  Their owner was standing in between two obstacles and the dog misunderstood their master’s directions.  They completed the course but did not win the prize.

As Christians, we should be able to follow our Master through the obstacle of this life.  We have the ability to think and understand as the Holy Spirit speaks and guides.  We read His word and move quickly and easily behind Him as He guides.   We walk beside Him as He walks with us in our race through life.

Whether we misstep often or get totally sidetracked, we must continue to follow Jesus until we are back on track.  The only difference in this race is that we are all rewarded at the end by seeing our Lord and spending eternity with Him in Heaven.  We know we have completed our course when we see Him face to face.
