SNOW

“Come now, and let us reason together,” says the Lord, “Though your sins are as scarlet, They will be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They will be like wool.” Isaiah 1:18 NASBFullSizeRender (42).jpg

Not all dogs like snow but we are blessed with ones that love it. They turn into big puppies.  Mallory takes her nose and plows through the snow like a bulldozer.  Then she plops down and makes dog angels.  Danni likes to romp and catch snowflakes.  There is nothing like a snow day when the whole family is together and the dogs play.

Snow is fresh and clean.  It sparkles in the moonlight and glistens in the trees as the first morning light rises. White stands for purity and there is nothing as pure as a new fallen snow.  Psalm 51:7 say, “Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

Isaiah compares our sin to scarlet.  When Jesus died on the cross, he shed his blood to cover our sins and God promised to remember our sins no more.  He washes us and cleanses us and tells us that we are as pure as the purest snow.  We are made new.  We are fresh and clean because of God’s forgiveness.

As the snow falls on the ground and covers all that is old and dingy so does God’s love and forgiveness fall on us.  It covers everything in us that is past and fills us with a hope for a fresh future.  Let God’s forgiveness fall in all the old crevices of your life today.  It will wash you whiter than snow.
