SHEDDING

Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies?  Yet not one of them is forgotten by God.  Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered.  Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.  Luke 12:6-7 NIVIMG_1754

Mallory has always shed but once we got Seneca her shedding paled in comparison to husky blow outs.  This year Mallory got tired of playing second fiddle and decided to enter the race for first place in the shedding department.  You could actually scoop up handfuls of her chocolate coat especially near her tail.  The carpet added another layer and changed color.  I was worried that something was medically wrong but all appears back to normal in the shedding department.

Like Mallory, each morning my comb is filled with shed hair.  I notice it and so does God.  The scripture in Luke tells us that God knows the exact number of hairs on each of our heads.  That is a lot higher than I can count and not lose track.

He formed us and knows every inch of us.  Psalm 139:13 says, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.”  Jeremiah is told by God in Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”  No one is inconsequential to our Creator.

On your worst day, God is there.  He sees you as you are and loves you beyond measure.  Luke 12 tells us he is watching every sparrow and cares about each and every one.  He sees your puppies as they are born and become part of your family.  The youngest baby is heard by God when their diaper needs changed.  His love and comfort goes out to you when you lose a loved one.  Nothing is unnoticed by the God of the Universe.

Even if you don’t have a lot of hair left, God still has your number.  He will never leave you nor forsake you.  Joshua 1:9 instructs, “Have I not commanded you?  Be strong and courageous.  Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

You are important to God.  No matter what type of day you are having, you are not alone.  God sees you and is with you.  Be strong and courageous.  Shed that doubt and fear and walk tall in the light of God’s love.
