There is one body and one Spirit-just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call-one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. Ephesians 4:4-6 ESV
One on one time is important to each of us. Just as experts recommend parents have alone time with our children, dogs require the same time and attention.
It’s not always easy to provide private time with your pups, especially if you have more than one. You can’t pet just one at a time. The others seem to come running whenever you try. Sometimes it is best to find a quiet place to give each of your pets that special belly rub.
God is no different. He wants to spend alone time with each of us. Uninterrupted time where he can lavish us with His attention. Just you. Just me. No distractions.
Yesterday, I listened to an author tell how she wrote her latest book. She didn’t think it would have any audience and her words wouldn’t speak to a large demographic. She worried about how to market it, etc., etc. Somewhere along the journey, God spoke to her heart and she decided to write the book for “an audience of one”.
The phrase “an audience of one” caught my attention. It spoke to me about every area of my life. We serve the living God and all our words are heard by the one true God. All our actions are seen by Him. All we do, the bible instructs us to do as unto Him (Colossians 3:23).
Mark 12:29-30 states, “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your mind and with all your strength.” According to Jesus, this is the greatest commandment, to love the one true God.
The great One is your “audience of one”. The God of the universe wants to spend one on one time with you. Get alone with Him today.
